Computer Support - eMail settings

This information is used to configure your eMail software. We try to keep it updated.  If you see any issues or want something added, please let us know.  We are happy to update the site for you!

We will provide the ISP (Internet Service Provider) and as much information as we have.  We'll also include a link to the ISP website location where you can find more information.

You may notice that in the majority of cases you can RECEIVE email but not SEND email (especially when you take your laptop from place-to-place).  ISPs control their OUTGOING servers much more closely than their INCOMING servers.  Basically, it appears that is mostly what you pay for through your ISP - Internet access and OUTGOING email!

SKILL LEVEL: Medium to High (you need to know what you are doing when you alter your email settings as there are dependencies and variations that will sometimes allow the settings to work and sometimes not -- we are happy to talk with you about this).

  • CenturyTel (Colorado - coming soon)
  • Comcast
    • Incoming - mail.comcast.net
    • Outgoing - smtp.comcast.net
    • Userid - your ID that you obtain from Comcast without the information after the "@"
    • If using SSL - SMTP Port 465, Incoming port 995, Password authentication
    • Click here for Web Site help from Comcast (Mac Mail, Outlook, etc)
  • Godaddy
    • Incoming - pop.secureserver.net
    • Outgoing - smtpout.secureserver.net
    • Userid - your email address on the domain you are setting up
  • GMAIL - 6/30/09 (always best to check their web site too)
    • Incoming - pop.gmail.com (SSL, Port 995)
    • Outgoing - smtp.gmail.com (SSL, Port 465)
    • Outgoing server DOES require authentication
  • San Isabel (Colorado - coming soon)

Email us and we'll do our best to post information that will help you support yourself!
